NRA magazine ballot issue

This year there are zero, repeat zero, candidates running by petition. The bylaws change, which increased signature requirements from 150 to 500+, and the Covid pandemic, which shut down the gun shows where signatures are usually gathered, put a real crimp in that. There is one reform-minded candidate running by write-in. That has little chance, but it’s better than nothing, and the number of his votes will at least be a sign that members want a change.

Of the candidates nominated by Nominating Committee, we’ve talked to reformers “in the know,” and we can see only one worth voting for. “Buzz” Mills, who voted “present,” meaning he refused to vote, on the motion to retroactively approve the bankruptcy filing. (There was a reason why they voted “present” rather than “nay,” we seem to remember it was because they hoped for appointment of a bankruptcy investigator who’d probe the embezzlements, but could not endorse the filing or the board’s being asked for retroactive approval.)

The candidate who is running by write-in is Frank C. Tait, of Wayne, PA. To vote for him, turn the ballot over so you see “For Write-In Nominations Only.” Write in both his name and his city and state. Fill in the little circle next to that and you are done.

Put your ballot in the envelope, remember to sign the envelope in the blank where the glued flap will cover it, seal it and that’s it.

We are only going to vote for those two. Voting for anyone else will just dilute our votes. If, for example, you vote for “Buzz” Mills and for ten others, the others you voted for might push him off the board. 25 shots is not firepower, one hit is. Every other incumbent on the ballot this year voted for bankruptcy and sheepishly retroactively approved LaPierre and Brewer having tricked them into supposedly authorizing the disastrous bankruptcy filing that cost NRA millions. They don’t deserve your vote.

  1. The idea that voting in NRA elections makes a difference has been hopium for 25 years since the “Winning Team” coup d’etat. But it might still pay to have one director with the courage and brains to publicly stand up & say what it is.

Too bad Judge Journey & his lame attorneys refused to request a trustee as a backup to the examiner motion or take any of the many kill shots they knew about, e.g.:

    * Asking LaPierre if he said Brewer was the only thing keeping him out of jail.

    * Asking what the crimes were.

    * Asking why he hired and kept convicted & known embezzlers as his personal assistant & NRA Treasurer.

    * Asking why he thought that Treasurer took the 5th so many times in deposition.

    * Moving to add life members as a class of unsecured creditors based on NRA’s liability of a lifetime magazine subscription and other services.

  2. If you want your vote for Frank to count, it must be Frank C. Tait (notice the correct spelling” of Wayne, PA. Rocky Marshall is also worth a write-in vote. He would be R. B. Rocky Marshall, Jr. of Boerne, TX
