NRA Move To Texas

Seen on LinkedIn:

Note the job opening is said to be in Dallas. This is insanity. The organization is in extreme economic stress, which is steadily worsening. It’s in no condition to relocate headquarters and 500 employees–most of whom will quit, anyway. Those who do will relocate will face sticker shock on housing prices, now on a par with those of Chicago. It will have no real purpose, since the NY Attorney General’s hold on NRA is that it’s a corporation created by NY law.

Bankrupt the NRA, disrupt its operations, and make most of its people resign. It’s almost as if the people in charge wanted NRA to destroy itself.

  1. Is Alan Fundt still alive? Where is the camera? I swear that this cannot really be true. Not only are the points that you made valid, but just the idea of making such a thing public, where the Judge in the case can see it, shows the worst arrogance from WLP and company that they have shown thus far.
It is almost like they are daring the Judge to rule against the NRA. Saying we know we will win, so plans are continuing forward to move to Dallas.
As I ponder this, I don’t know if this is arrogance, a mistake, or just plain stupidity. Likely it is all 3. I am glad I was not eating while reading this, as I am sure that I would have choked on whatever I was having. And this AFTER the Judge agrees to have Willes Lee be deposed once more.
Those of you that often comment here must like me, be getting angrier the more we see these guys and the actions they take, wasting money that could be much better spend defending our firearm rights.

  2. Looks like the new “compliance officer” is downgraded to a Sr. Manager and will be under Wayne totally negating the independence that was discussed in prior meetings.

I’d rephrase it to “It’s almost as if the people in charge want to destroy the NRA.” I can’t think of a single thing our enemies would do differently to bankrupt the organization.

  4. I have long believed that the greatest irony of this sad story is that the NRA which was the historical champion of 2A rights has in fact done more to damage the cause than those that are opposed to the very existence of the 2nd Amendment. Somehow the BOD and the true believers have missed that point while a select few have used the organization’s monies and relationships for their own personal gain.

This job posting is a joke as the documentation that has come out regarding NRA operations is that their primary controls were not focused on efficiently running a non-profit, but instead controlling information and the public narrative to its member base. Perhaps the compliance officer would oversee the operations of their parking lot as all other existing controls have been ignored for selected insiders for decades. The spigot is going to run dry next year.

  5. Texas Business Organization Code forbids the kind of misconduct and mismanagement conducted by the NRA board and officers. Therefore, NRA’s supposed retreat to Texas will not aid the board and officers in the continuation of their misconduct and mismanagement as publicly alleged in filed court complaints, court decisions, and revelations in the print and electronic media. No nonprofit law in the nation allows a board or officer to desert the fiduciary duty and responsibility to manage prudently, to prevent waste of corporate assets, and to prevent the payment of exorbitant salaries and excessive benefits.

  6. If you look at the employment opportunities for all of NRA, this is the only position listed as Dallas based. All others either only say HQ or specifically say based in Fairfax Virginia.

Therefore, I think it’s more likely once this person is hired, Brewer’s bill will begin to include rent. It reminds me of a time when NRA employees reported to Ackerman McQueen employees.

    1. Not to bicker any, however, if you look at the newer jobs posted it says NRA Headquarters, only.
The older ones say NRA Headquarters Fairfax, VA.
Just reading them all one by one.
