NY Vs. NRA: Trial Exhibits

The court has posted online exhibits from the trial. Here’s a sample of the best:

Summary of invoices from GS2 (one of the businesses run by LaPierre’s secret travel agent) to NRA. $17 million billed over eight years.

One of the agent’s invoices, for a jet to take the LaPierres to the Bahamas. $18,900, one-way.

Another invoice, to fly LaPierre’s friend Tony Makris and another person from Phoenix to Savannah. $33,000.

Yet another, to fly the LaPierres to the Bahamas. $38,658. The jet was a Hawker 800, capable of carrying nine passengers, but here ferrying two going on vacation. The tab includes a $300 estimate for catered meals.

Memo saying that in 2019, the private travel agent billed $958,000 for chartered flights, with no business purpose stated.

A $6,553 hotel bill for the LaPierres — a $749 a night suite. Farther down, a bill from Four Seasons Atlanta for a week at $1350-1750 a night (varying with how much was billed for room service).

Invoice for helicopter to carry Tony Makris and three others, presumably to a NASCAR event. $2,940.

Photos of the $6 million mansion that was to be purchased by NRA and Ackerman McQueen for the LaPierres.

A summary of how Millie Hallow billed NRA tens of thousands for her son’s wedding. She billed its costs as the cost of mythical events for big NRA donors.

An email that shows why Craig Spray was fired as treasurer. He was too honest and too frank. He asks a staffer, “How much do we owe (or have invoices for) the Crime Watch crap?” The answer is somewhere over $ 1,000,000. Another one, where Spray asks, who is this guy and what does he do for us, and is told he is a former staffer and “we want to keep him happy.” Happy = quiet.

John Frazer, to an outside attorney, in February 2019 (two months before the scandals broke), arranging for the attorney to review Ollie North’s contract with Ackerman McQueen. This is significant, since the “official story” was that North and Ackerman wouldn’t let NRA see the contract.
